All through his life - Nate, never one eager to please (I surmised he was so smart he knew if he showed you what he could do - you would just make the next task ‘harder’ - slyly pretended to each expert, teacher, therapist - that he barely understood English - let alone could speak it.  While shockingly Nate could actually read in preschool.  (I only found out ‘what he was - and is able to do - mostly by catching him in the act - since it is a game he continues to play, even today, if allowed.  

Not one to get mad, I prefer to get even - so when I realized he COULD read - I figured I would use that to my advantage as a way to get him to speak.   After many 3 am internet surfing episodes I discovered Clicker - then a new program - made in England by John Crick… This was the golden  ticket!
