Do the work...to turn the reality I created for Nate into an 'off the rack' - take out of the box' item that will change and impact lives in a meaningful and positive direction for the many families that face the sisyphean challenge challenge in their eveyday lives - challenges akin to the ones I faced, and face everyday with an answer. I, and others' like me - were changing the paradigm. (hard for me to believe, I was one of those people....a disruptor - not only was I a disruptor - but I was a disruptor on steriods - A girl with a dream and a vision of what life for Nate could and should be ...... I expected everyone to just jump on board...... the reality was plenty of kicking, screaming, and dragging - I was not to be denied - a force to reckon with - I had found a 'way' through the quagmire - --- and they were going to listen and I guess 'obey' whether they liked it or not. there was too much at stake to my way of thinking.....and I was not taking NO for an answer - I barely even courted the 'notion' of not yet - in fact even 'not yet' was unacceptable to me when I not only found a creative solution - but Mark and I put our money where our 'mouth was' and provided the answer - or at least an answer ...I had pretested - and was worth following through with until - there was a next thing.

Living on the edge may sound exciting - especially when you're in your twenties, - but the reality is - the edge is not comfortable. I think of my life with Nate - if not perfect - but a giant step in the right direction to giving my special needs child - or adult his own voice.

Prinicipal in KaGin Designs - Kagin Designs is my invention partnership with another mom - my BFF who also has four sons...  We have found that Desperation truly is the mother of invention.....  That plus her wonderful sense of humor has kept me, somewhat, sane on the road I'm traveling....
